Sheffield and Slavery

Between March and July 2021 I was a postdoctoral researcher on the 'Sheffield, Slavery, and Its Legacies' project, investigating the City of Sheffield’s links to historical slavery, the slave trade, and anti-slavery from the seventeenth through the nineteenth centuries. I was hired to work on this collaborative project by Dr Rosie Knight and Dr Andrew Heath. I will also be liaising with non-academic partners in Sheffield (black community organisations such as SADACCA, Sheffield City Archives, local museums) to organise a one-day online symposium that brings together various beneficiaries.
